Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches!
Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord!
Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint for hunger at the head of every street.

Lamentations 2:19 ESV

Trusting Then Doing

Something Skip Heitzig said made me think—many moms are so busy trying to cover all the basics of raising and protecting their children themselves that they cannot stop to release them through prayer into God's hands. Their faith is in their doing, not in God's care and promises. And, in their doing, they so overprotect their children in the process that they shield their children from the work God is trying to do in their lives.

Don't try to protect what God is trying to direct.
Skip Heitzig

Moms—before we get busy with all the other tasks of the day, let us first do the work of prayer and release our children into the hands of the One who really can cover all the basics, of the One who can raise them up to be the men and women He has planned them to be. Let us work alongside our God instead of being busy trying to undo by our doing what He is doing.

He really can be trusted.

So trust in the Eternal One forever, for He is like a great Rock—
strong, stable, trustworthy, and lasting.
Isaiah 26:4 (VOICE)
